We currently have 25 MSPs supporting, across 4 parties – SNP (who lodged the motion); Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Conservatives. To enable a debate in Parliament we believe we need support from either the Greens, or the Liberal Democrats.
We encourage all our followers to write to their MSP to seek their support for the motion, and potentially to speak on their behalf at the debate. A strong turnout of MSP speaking on behalf of their constituents will be a demonstration of the prevalence across Scotland, and it is likely that some MSPs will have more than one constituent affected.
If your MSP has already signed, please still get in touch with them, to thank them for supporting the motion, and ask if they would consider speaking at any future debate.
If your MSP has a role in government, they may not be able to represent you at the debate, but it is still worth contacting them to let them know it is happening, and share your story. They may be able to ask a colleague to represent them – or you could contact one of your regional MSPs – and ask them to support the motion and share your story.
If you are sharing details with your MSP, please ensure that if your child is over 12, that they are aware that you are sharing, what it is for, and have given their consent to what you share. If they are under 12 parental judgement can be used, but we strongly advise that you outline to your child what is happening.
PANS+Scotland have an anonymity policy, meaning that we value your family’s right to privacy, and we will never share identifying information. Your MSP will follow strict data protection protocols to ensure that only information that you want to be shared will be.
